LB7 Range Shift Inhibited? Recently rebuilt the transfer case..

This is my first post here so I hope I’m posting this in the right section... Anyways, I just recently rebuilt the transfer case in my girlfriends 04 GMC LB7 and all was fine for a few days.. Then, yesterday I was moving it around in the yard and “Range Shift Inhibited” popped up when I was trying to get it lined up to the garage better... Could I have possibly went to change gears too quickly not thinking about it or?

Check the wiring to the VSS on the transfer case. Since you just messed with the transfer case, that's the most likely thing to have been disturbed. If that isn't the problem, you'll need a good scan tool to read the transmission codes.
