Ok guys, I've been doing a TON of research and haven't exactly found the answer I'm looking for. Anyway, I cracked an lbz piston and I've read how well the lb7/lly pistons hold up compared to the lbz/lmm. My question is, if I were to go down that route of the older lb7 piston..what would have to be done for me to safely run these? I'm pretty sure I just can't slap um In and call it a day. I do appreciate any responses pointing me in the right direction!! Thank you!

Since you have cracked a piston now and will know very soon the cost of working on these engines, do it right and don't run any stock cut piston. Plenty if guys do it and have decent luck with them. If they really do make a lot of power they won't last. Every time you pill the engine apart and don't change a single hard part you are going to spend at least a grand and that's doing it yourself.
