LB7 Intake Horn Q's

I'm currently trying to figure out weither to upgrade my intake horn or keep the stock one I ported out myself on my 02? I've done some searching to find that most all the ava horns are 3.5in which sounds good but then I hear that they have clearence issues with the wire loom so that kinda shys me away. I've ported my stock horn out myself with a burring bit and then polished it to almost mirror like finish stock was 2.413xxin and I took it out to 3.0 I.D. pretty much perfectly round and smooth as silk. Took me awhile because of how picky I was with it. What I'm curious to know is will 1/2in make that much of a difference? Is a 1/2in, a little more whistle, and the chance the thing will hack up my wire loom really worth 100.00+ bucks. Please enlighten me before I make a costly mistake if it is one?

They are all very close if not identical you can't hone out the stocker as large as you.can the supermarket 1 and you can get close to what you pay for them most of the time if you decide to go to larger turbo in the future.

i dont think its worth the money to ditch the honed out one you have now for a .5" bigger one.

James is probably right.I know that airhorn Ifis a choke point on the lb7s so something has to to be done,if your already ported maybe stick with that its just hard to keep the same size all the way thru the horn.If you found a.good deal on a used 1 id jump on it otherwise keep what you have from what you and pm'd about your going bigger on the turbo someday im sure of it.:thumb:

on a stocker turbo, i doubt you would ever see where its an issue after opening it up to 3". If you run a big bored out "stock" looking turbo like a DTS or Fleece or River City, it may be a different story.
