New around here but wanted to kick things off with a good question that i cant seem to find a good answer to. I bought a 04 LB7 duramax from a dealer a few months ago and I now know why it got traded in. Bad injectors, fuel in oil. Well im getting ready to change my injectors and going to go ahead and do all 8. Ive heard that the injector lines have a liner in them that break down and get into the injector and cause them to go bad. This was stated by the people that sell the injectors. (not sure if I should mention the name) I have searched and searched and cant turn any truth up to this other then the usual corrosion around the injector lines nuts and such. Anyone ever heard of anything like this or seen it personally? any help appreciated. thanks :thumb:

I have never heard of such a thing and if that was the case I would think there would be alot more injector failures. I have cut a set in half to weld shut to help diagnose a issue I was having and saw nothing of the sort.

I suggest new lines, I had alot of issues with mine because of old lines that were corroded and would not seal completely, new lines are well worth it.

I thought Eric canned the refurbished line program cause of the return of cores & cleaning downtime couldn't keep them in stock

I would venture to say no. Gm wouldn't have had techs sandblasting the lines for corrosion if it was there.

Do you have any spare cups on hand just in case a couple pop?

You dont need to replace an injector cup if it dislodges. Just clean it and the head really well apply sealant (loctite 272) and reinstall. I have re-used all 8 of mine, no issues. Key is clean.
