Hey guys, I'm leaving on Saturday for the oil fields. So here in a few months I want to start building my truck. I've watched a lot of videos and read a lot about the problems with lb7's. My goal is 800-1000 if possible with a single turbo setup. What I'm wondering is what would be the best setup for that power level. I was thinking, lbz internals with forged pistons. Heads???? Cam??? On fuel system, I was thinking 60 over sac's and dual fuelers. Thinking dmaxtuners 68mm stock turbo, headers, and up pipes. Any advice? If it's possible, I'd like to keep this build as close to 15k as possible. If what I posted isn't realistic, please be honest with me. By November I want my truck done as a usable show truck.

Carillo rods
Stock heads with better springs and fasteners
Not sure on cam...wouldnt hurt, though

at least 100-over injectors
dual CP3s unless you can find a 12mm for a good price
You'll need a lift pump setup -- dont forget about that
IMO, you'll need a larger turbo than that one.
Rick's manifolds/uppipes
3" I/C piping, possibly better intercooler

Who's tuning?

Still dont see a built trans on your list, either.

If I were you, Id start making offers on parts in the Garage Sale area.

I didn't put about the trans, cause I know that's a given. I was thinking of efi live from Duramax tuners. I know I need a lift pump, but not sure on which gph. I was told stock heads wouldn't handle that much power??? If I go larger than 68mm then I can't get a stock mounted style correct?

I made over 1200hp with stock heads with cheap summit springs.

We’ve been over a lot of this already Phil in your other thread

That was before I found out about common lb7 lower end issues. Now I just want to build a reliable engine and be done. I leave Saturday for big money, so now it's time to get a parts list and figure out a budget. I don't want to be doing engine work after the truck is painted and lifted. It'll have 280k miles on it by Sunday afternoon if all goes well.
