Customers truck with hot side plumbing, AFE intake, and aftermarket turbo inlet horn with a stock tune made 401 RWHP, 33" tires

My truck with Banks Derringer, S&B intake. 481 RWHP

Posted this in case it may help some people that are in the market for L5P products, some real numbers to make a choice from.

Looks like the aftermarket bolt on shit is just that :D
Guess the Banks tuner is the low cost way to go for a decent gain.

Thats exactly what I was thinking. Probably was pissed all that work and money for one HP gain :spit:

Were all trucks broken in? Strange my dads L5P with the afe went faster than an L5P with a banks on it.

Yes, all over 15k miles. What did your Dad's truck run in the 1/4mile? I've yet to see an AFE tuned L5P at the local track beat my heavy ass lifted truck ETs.

Thanks for the info Rob! Honesty kind of sad how little benefit the customers truck with a modded inlet gave but I'm wondering if that has to do with the Derringer not really pushing the stock turbo/air system very hard or if there is really no major benefit on the L5P platform.

I believe someone dynoed it and picked up 25hp I forget the thread it’s in. But that was a max effort tune

Deleted I believe, not showing any HP gain on my dyno with two different trucks running emissions. I like testing stuff when i have no "skin" in the game.

Any of these trucks running a dummy solenoid or TCM tuning? Remember that the TCM will pull power when it senses any trans slip. The solenoid will give it back for a while till the clutches burn.

AG module woke up my 18 truck. Dyno numbers show 435 and 910 on torque. Stock everything other than module. Just put a Banks I take on this past week. I needed a filter so I got one that I can clean. Throttle seems better after I take doesn’t seem to feel much different other than touch of the throttle.
