That 1996 350 will probably be spider injection (CPI), not true port injection.
Either way, wiring will be a huge PITA because its OBD2 versus your 1994 OBD 1 truck. Also, the wiring for the 1996 engine will be designed to work with the 1995+ trucks, when the GMT-400's got the "mid-cycle enhancement" (new dash, driver side airbag, etc), making things even more difficult.
I dont know if your 1994 instrument cluster will work with the 1996 ECM either....
