Anyone own or have experience with the kimber custom II 1911?

I've been wanting another 1911, originally wanted a Springfield, but came across this one used online for $750. I didn't know kimber made a lower end 1911, which is why when I first came across this ad I thought it was a screaming deal. However, After doing a little research, It seems to be a fair deal

Thoughts or insight?

What size is it?
Do you want it for home pro, personal pro and carry, gun range time, or just to have a Kimber?

Kimber's have been renowned for their quality and craftsmanship, however, I lost some interest in them when they started outsourcing production, taking the craftsman out of their process, the only firearms they produce in house in Yonkers anymore is the complete "custom shop" 1911's and their rifles, but even then I think it's only the competition series rifles, everything is being forged and milled in brazil anymore and public feedback has taken a turn for the worse since.

Personally I like Sig and Springfield. I have both, 1 Sig scorpion 4" and a Springfield 5" 1911 and xdm's 9 & 45 in 4.5".

Commander sized 1911's are difficult to conceal IMHO, and 3" barrels are really only good for close range self defense, so what is your intention for this pistol? $750 doesn't sound like all that good of a deal to me....

I want it to add to my collection, shoot at the range, and for general protection. CA concealed carry laws are crazy but I am in the process of getting one. Got denied last year but am taking a different approach at it this year and from a different county.

He had upgraded mags, MSH, and was gonna give a couple boxes of 45 with it. I just haven't seen very many of them around here so I don't really know what a fair price would be.
