Ok I am getting annoyed, for some reason almost every time I start into the canyon on the way home from my ladies house my maf code goes off, every time it happens in the EXACT same spot! I can drive all over and nothing happens but as soon as I start up that certain hill it trips it  Ive pulled the maf and cleaned it a couple times and reset everything and I still get it in the same spot. Any ideas why THAT spot and how to fix it?

My 01 throws a Maf code every once in awhile also. Could be tuning could be location of the Maf sensor . You've ruled out it being dirty. My case I believe it's in the tuning. There is no rime or reason why mine does it but I know when I was running a certain tune ( a downloader style) it did it all the time years ago.

I would think that with EFI you could change the parameters so it no longer does it. Someone who knows EFI could tell you I cannot.

chris I wondered that but I would think it would do it on the way up there too (kinda go over a mountain) I did just clean my filter a month or so ago and the stupid oil on the filter always messes with them so I figured cleaning the maf a million times now I'd be good. I thought maybe it was sucking some of the filter oil from running 10+ psi all the way up the hills but that should do it on the other hills too... just weird that it only does it in that exact spot

Maybe try logging the next time you drive there, and see what happens. Also, did it store a freeze frame? That might shed some light on what happened too.

Yeah, you can dump the code and freeze frame data with the FlashScan V2. Then look through the resulting text file and see what looks odd. It would be easier with a full log, but this could get us started.

I think the option you use is "save all diagnostics" or something, under the diagnostics (or scan?) menu. Man, I can't remember right now. If you can't find it, I'll look tomorrow night for you.
