k 5500 duramax alli question

My uncle bought a 4x4 5500 dmax. He was driving it today and it just reved up and wouldn't move. The gear indicator under the pnd321 is blinking after a couple of seconds in a gear. The truck was moving fine before this. They just changed the fluid in the trans and the spin on said 60 some thousand miles on it. The trucks got over 210,000. The filter and fluid had over 150,000 on it lol WOW. We loaded it up on the trailer in 4lo and reverse as it wouldn't move much at all in forwards. It would keep on kicking into a neutral mode when backing up onto the trailer. Does this sound like a nsbu problem or a fubared trans? The truck has no pending or stored codes. I just talked to my cousin and it sounds like this is the problem. One of the goones that work for them changed the internal filter. My uncle was talking about how rough the road was coming and going from were we were splitting wood yesterday. There are railroad tracks also that he went over right before it started acting up.
