LLY: Just How Bad Are My Injectors?/How Much For New Ones?

went and seen my buddy over at edge today to check injector balance just for sh!ts and grins, found 3 out of balance, not sure how to read the screen but ill go in order


TOP LEFT- -2.2 TOP RIGHT 0.5
MIDDLE LEFT 0.6 MIDDLE/MIDDLE- 1.1 MIDDLE/RIGHT- -0.1
BOTTOM LEFT 0.7 MIDDLE/BOTTOM- -1.1 BOTTOM RIGHT 0.5

How long do i got to get these changed? should i replace them all or just the 3? how much will they run? also how much will slightly bigger ones run, say like 20% over? thanks

People place way too much emphasis on balance rates. If you see/hear/feel a problem THEN start looking at balance rates...

Like what? My truck kinda has a jumpy idle kinda like a lope idle...

Your balance rates are fine quit worrying. If your truck has a lope to it there is many other things it could be like a bad fpr

Understandable i would use the search function and read up on bad fuel press. regulators to see if this may be your issue? Your balance rates look really good so move on to something else in line thats fuel related if i was you:thumb:

I have seen as little as -3.0 make noise a very picky customer deemed unacceptable.

my two cents if it's not hammering or smoking no need to worry, there is so much more to balance rates than just injectors it far outstrips my ability to type out an explanation of what all can create a "bad" balance rate.

I have seen a late lly with 8 bad injectors tha had balance rates under +/-1.5mm3, it wouldn't even maintain 15k rail pressure and smoked to beat the band.

the moral of the story is balance rates are just a piece of information.
