My head gaskets blew so had to do it either way, I didnt want any more head gasket issues I cant afford to do rods cut pistons or get the heads ported so just a quick mill and probably get the valves done and pressure checked. I probably didnt need these big $$$ studs but I kept asking myself why they made them (is there some limitation or failure the lesser ARP studs or the TTS). The studs look like some exotic Austentic steel (non magnetic). Almost got the heads off and yes there is alot of harness and an excess amount of fasteners.:D

I'm sorry for 1,500 I would of spent the 530 for the regular arp's and put the other 1,000 toward other parts. why over kill.

I understand your point here Henry but I have talked with Guy and he feels that if they are in the budget why not? If you stayed with the 4094 /Dual CP3 combo I would agree that they aren't worth it but... when going over 50 or so psi they are worth it.

There are alot of Duramax's pushing over 50psi on standard ARPs with no problems....... Hell I have seen 50psi on stock head bolts and gaskets torque by GM and didn't blow a head gasket.

If it is in the budget I agree, why not - but if you are just doing it to fix a blown head gasket on stock rods and pistons I think it's big time overkill. IMO if this is in the budget it's gonna be a Forged 7.1L Duramax when it's done.

Whatever else I decide to do to it I wont have to buy new head bolts/studs again.I know they have even less of a chance of failing than anything else on the market today. I dont want to blow another set of head gaskets.

If you plan to continue building it as money allows then it makes more sense to me - do each part right the first time, never spend money on the same part twice - I agree. I mistakenly thought this was your fix for blown head gaskets with no plans of going further down the road.
