Hey guys I finally got myself back into a dmax and it even happened to be a 07 lbz.
I had a lb7 before so I know my way around with efi live, but I just need some tips on what to steer clear of with the lbz, and any other tips that might make me a better tuner with the lbz.

Thanks guys
Mike

Hey man, sorry I never replied to your PM on GMFS. I read it on tapatalk at work and then got super busy working 12s all last week.

I would do a full egr delete and PCV reroute. My 07 is so much happier than just using the delete plate.

I used RDL pieces but All Season has nice stuff too

No problem man thats what I figured anyhow.

I want to do a egr delete here soon. Is it that hard to do by yourself? Also could I get you to send me one of your tunes before you had your turbo? I'd like to see how you made your fueling changes and all that good stuff. This lbz stuff is a ton different then the lb7.
I intend to get some wheels and tires hopefully sometime soon these 245's are killing me lol. I'm also going to get a 5" straight pipe, not sure what brand yet.

LBZ tuning isn't that hard once you can wrap your head around the idea of there being an extra step in determining fueling. In an LB7/LLY you have X amount of throttle is Y amount of fuel basically so long as a limiter isn't stopping you. In an LBZ X amount of throttle gives you a fictitious Z amount of torque, and then Z amount of torque has a fuel table to determine the Y or amount of fuel. There is just one more step involved to get to the end basically. What is nice is the ECM uses the torque value for determining fueling, and so does the TCM. If your creative with your engine tuning you can get it to where the trans still shifts pretty good even when you change tunes on a DSP set-up. If you really want to see difficult, open up an LMM tune and see just how many more tables it has VS an LBZ. Then the LBZ doesn't look so bad.

Do you guys have a good tune I could look at and see how you did it? I was looking in the library but I'm not sure which of those tune are actually "good" and which ones were just a something thrown together real quick.

Dozers milage tune is a really good tune. I've made some small changes to it and put it in a DSP5 tune and they have all been happy with it. I also adapted it to an LMM and it runs real good in it as well. It is a milage economy tune though, not really a HP tune.
