This is the 01 that's already has some [questionable] mods and is listed as "not smogged". Don't know if it means it didn't/won't pass or that he just didn't take it in

Gotta love the bed full of garbage for the advertisement photos. The stacks probably just for looks, appears soot free. Body doesn’t look bad, bed looks cleaner than my truck haha.

What are you up to now?

Getting back into the swing of workin on these things again. This was a friend of a friend referral for a cracked piston in cyl 7. Shops in town wanted 25-30k for a 100% stock rebuild put in. Had him order one of Tony’s upgraded units for 12.6k and 05LLYDMAX and I pulled/installed it for more fun money. We will be building that trans soon as well, did a training class at Evans a while back.

Waiting on the new jobs shop to get built and then these kinds of things can become more regular there. Just too tight at the current shop and ties up bays for too long

25-30K for an engine rebuild?!?!??! What the ever-loving-hell?!? That is legal theft IMO.

When you factor in 40 hours shop rate at 200+ an hour and what I’d guess is a factory rebuilt engine for 10-12k plus mark up and the fact they probably didn’t want to do it, yup I agree.

I know a guy with a few left over 4x4 parts for a conversion...:ROFLMAO:
Probably wouldn't be that hard to set it up with a dash switch that didn't notify the ECM it was in 4wd. But it would add to the already high price of the truck

But no one is going to pay 8k for a non running 2wd truck... It might be a 4k truck though... and it does say O.B.O.

Yeah. "I’m willing to negotiate but low offers will be ignored". Doesn't sound like he is going to sell it anytime soon with statements like that. Plus he also says it needs injectors and doesn't run. I'll pass. Clean looking though.

Likely it does but if there is a ficm issue or other electrical issue he is not smart enough to figure it out. He probably slapped one in and it didn't run and he gave up. I don't know if they need to be programed to function in the truck or not. It probably has bad diesel in the tank from sitting a few years as well as air in the lines.

$200/hr shop rate is absolutely insane. Wow. People actually pay that?

Im definitely in the wrong line of work.
I just took a truck to freightliner for warranty work. On the wall was their labor. 190 for semis and 230 for everything else
