First I would like to thank those at LDS, ATP, and Evan@LimitlessDiesel. Your products and customer support has helped tremendously. :thankyou: Also a shout out to yellowchevy for your help and all your IHI posts.

This is my first Duramax that my wife bought me (April '15) during a deployment. I then got to spend 6 months reading forums and upon returning home she has realized the mistake she had made. A maintainer by trade, it irritates her when I point out worn parts but the price was right for 220K miles.

First year was some of the little things. Tinkered with the high idle, intake horn, stock intake, intake heater delete, lift pump and filters. Then MBRP downpipe and 4" exhaust, pump rub kit and a set of tunes with a CTS2. I ended up having a hole develop in the IC piping and the suspension needed attention, so a set IC piping, tie rods, shocks, ball joints, bushings, and bags with on-board compressor was added.

The end of 2016 the Allison had limped a couple time and injectors were starting to show their age, so it was time to get a budget going. Fast-forward to Feb 2017, an injector stuck and it was time. Brent @ LDS supplied me with the their 64mm compressor/cover combo, SAC 45% injectors, lines, ect. Also order a turbo rebuild kit, truck was put in the shop, and turbo pulled. Followed yellowchevy's p-n-p/rebuild thread and couldn't be happier with the results. Turbo was reassembled in the living room while the kiddos were occupied with a movie to take their mind off the potential tornado and the power being out (thank God for generators).

Next out came the injectors. My neighbor is a Snap-on dealer and offered to let me use their mid-grade boroscope, which is only $900 BTW, and seen cylinder 7 had been possibly dripping a little but nothing too major. Although I did spend a lot of time thinking it had a crack while it was just a mark in the carbon from the scope. The second scare was #2. It was my problem child and the appeared to have started to meltdown. After inspecting better, and leakdown testing @ 90% cold, it was only washed down and brought much needed relief. :nanawoot:

I got every things back together on a Sunday morning (~5am), installed new tune, and was started priming but batteries were not up to it. So had a nightcap/breakfast beer , hooked up charger and went to rest. 9 am and I was ready to hear it run. Finally she started but with a terrible lope that shook the truck and my Rail Pressure was pegged. Like an idiot I had forgotten to hook up a connector. Connected the pressure sensor and she sounded like a dream. :driving: :bananallama:

At this point hopefully I'll get to building the trans this weekend with one of Evan's kits and I can finally turn the wicked up :happy2:

Trans is back in but apparently looked at the E valve crossed because it's sticking. Time to drop the valve body
