Hmm, no. At least I can't find any here in Vegas. No jobs for what I do and I don't have any experience in anything else. So I try to apply for other jobs out of my normal realm but it really doesn't do any good. I Think I am going to go to school but I can't collect unemployment while in school. I gues I can flip burgers. :thumb:

We are very lucky to have great clients, we did feel the pinch once this whole thing started but have rebounded very nicely... I hope everything starts working out for all you guys.

Thanks to NAFTA and all the other "Fair" Trade agreements our government signed, all the good jobs went overseas or to Mechico.

JOB = Journey Of the Broke IMHO.

Having a job is good, owning a business or business's and choosing your path in life is the best.

I have been self employed since 1992, I worked briefly for a large company for 8 years and while the job was OK the loss of freedom sucked big time.

I like everyone else am slower that I used to be, partly because of the economy, partly because of the increased competition in what I do in both of my business's, but in the end I'll survive POS OBAMMY and the next three years.

Good Luck to everyone, self reliance will get you thru this, not Uncle Obammy and the Democraps.

;)

TX of course
I see a job in my field come up every week on the job postings. But they are getting 100s of resumes I haven't even got an interview in 11/2 months. I could have a job very soon if I wanted to travel, but I love coming home to my wife and house. That might change soon....

Im fortunate to be at a steady job really enjoying what I do, have great perks of the job etc, and just got another raise last week. Things are looking well.

Good luck to all who are looking for some stability in these tough times.

Technically a subcontractor cause of 1099 but work for somebody on a fishing boat unless you have your own.
The last 2 years have sucked, all of small scallop boats that are left since rationalization have been under a quarterly TAC(total allowable catch) basically derby fishing till the TAC is met.
The NMFS shutdown the 1/4s 10% early to tally landings, so far theyve managed to let the first 2 1/4s(30&35%) to go over & then they take that out of the last 2 1/4s(15&10%) The fall quota of 15% was cut in down to 7%(2 weeks) & winter 1/4 probably won't open.
Trying to scratch a living from now till March 1st. In March we goto the new program of IFQs(Individual Fishing Quotas) we have a set amount of weight for the year & we can go when we want.
Only problem with that is closure of our closest fishing grounds for a couple years. So Ill be forced to fish out NJ for most the year.

I'm glad i got out of CA when i did. Everything went to hell just a few months after i moved to gillette. Things here at cummins slowed down for a while with the coal mines trying to do there own work and putting things off to pinch pennies. We're picking back up slowly though. When things slowed down they dropped us from and max of 70 hours a week to 60 hours a week. We're hopping they bump it back up but we have our doubts.

I too have been fortunate, I work for an electrical wholesaler that is based out of Mass, I work in their RI location, things have slowed alot but they are a great company to work for and really take care of their guys. Great pay good benefits and good guys to work for. I couldn't ask for more.

I need a career not my crappy job. I moved to Edmonton Ab. because there were no jobs in Windsor Ont. I am a CNC Machinist I have 7 years in the trade and I cant find a good shop to work in. I was working sweet hours in Windsor and I miss them and the kind of work. I was doing Tool & Mold/Die now I am making down hole drilling tools and I make the same crap day in day out. I want to kill something. The shop I am at now is doing well yet they keep cutting back the hourly pay employees. We went from a min of 44h/w now we work 40 but no longer get paid breaks. So we work 7am to 3:30pm 5 days a week and take home 37.5 hours. I also hate the HR chick. We did not have a HR at all till all the cut backs and she is always happy to can people and you just want to smack her.

ok rant over for now.

PS: I am no longer able to have a laptop at my machine because it is not "LEAN" yet all the office staff can be on "FaceTube" all day and not work.
