I hear "we want to get a foreign car; they last longer." all the time...

All my company trucks are GM. I have two personal GM trucks as well and they almost all have 200,000+ miles on them.

That's when you tell them that all of the Big 3 took a bailout at one time. Some never even paid it back. Yet GM paid it back in full+

The GM bailout was caused by gov't actions. The much larger bank bailout was caused by greed, and politicians who didn't want to lose their millions in investments.

The bailout was due to the home loans GMAC owned and had very little to do with the auto business itself. Plus go find me many large corporations that haven't taken govt. assistants? Ultimately GM didn't get rich over it, it was a loan they paid back. The best part is most foreign auto companies are state supported at some level by their own govts.

So few people actually understand ^^^^^ it makes me sick to my stomach. Its time for some new laws governing who and for how long politicians can serve. Plus, a requirement should be previous business expirence, ie you ran a succesfull business prior to wanting to run the country, state or county...

Our government is run like a failing business, spend, spend, spend untill there is nothing left but receipts and debt.....:thumb:
