I have a left front hub bearing that needs to be replaced on a 2002 Sierra 2500HD 4X4. Is it possible/wise to do it without having the J-45859 Axle Remover? I am having a difficult time finding one and I really do not want to spend $160.00 for a tool I will not use that often. I have contacted Autozone and O'reilly's and they don't carry that one. Is there a substitute that will work? I guess the basic question is, Am I going to damage anything (or is there a high probablity that I will) by not using the special puller? Any suggestions or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
