I can’t tell you how upset/sad I am about this! Another one bites the dust. Pretty soon we will have nowhere to Race legally

The way I understand it is...

The circle track was a huge money looser for irwindale. The Drag strip was supporting the whole complex. Nascar pulled out and Toyota pulled out and they could not make rent. So they locked it up and its closed down with no future plans to reopen (as of now)....

Sounds like its time for a petition.... knock the whole place down and build a world class 1/4 mile drag track. They got the room.

That sucks, they need to be opening more tracks not shutting them down. It's been proven that police participation and a well promoted campaign to keep racing on the track and off the streets works.

Move down to TX I got at least 3 tracks within 1 hr of me and plenty of back roads for tuning.

We have a couple 1/8 mile tracks close. The closest(about an hour) gets flooded out by the Ohio river from time to time.

Sucks to hear. A lot of that going on.
Kansas City, Mo track is closed after last season (opened back in 1962). Tulsa, Oklahoma drag strip (also open since 1962) closed down after the track owner sold the land for a rock quary. It has since gotta a temporary reprieve with a new 2yr lease.
Sounds like Gatewat in St. Louis and Memohis tracks are coming back to life so there is still reason to hope for your track(s).

That sucks! I hate to see tracks go by the wayside. It usually means more shopping malls.

I thought Irwindale was a well established track, at least the circle track.
