I've been looking to upgrade my 2000 v6 2wd tundra to a diesel for about 6 months. I tow a lot of garden tractors. I picked up this 02 on auction 120k, auto 4wd

Registered it, went to pick it up, 15 minute warm up, a couple laps around the garage, and 55 of 85 highway miles tonight and met this guy at 75.

I only saw it 1/2 in my lane a few feet away, and couldn't swerve with a serious embankment just beyond the break down lane.

I watch a vw behind me jump it.

Everyone walked away without real injury.

The 2500 is tough, but I'm not sure I can afford this on top of the pm and bed it needed

Thought I'd say hello while having a couple beers, letting the adrenaline wear off.

I drove it far enough to know this is exactly what I wanted

Looks like the airbag went off. That's crazy because the truck doesn't look THAT bad. I hit on in my old 01' and it was 100x worse and airbag never deployed. As long as your ok its all that matters. Trucks are replaceable

The air bag didn't go off, but it was a 800lb moose. I hit the front legs and head. The door/windshield pillar looks slightly bowed, I'll have to look more later. It may not be too bad, but I stretched my budget to buy it, Im not sure I can cover this immediately after buying it.

Insurance was only liability.

I got all the parts from a want add for what I expected to pay for a bed and went to town. I've been driving it since Tuesday. The pillar was bent, but less then 1/4". I think the windshield went in good, and the glass guy seemed confident. I painted with rustolium gloss white and it's better then I expected.

I still have to do rockers for next year, but it's still holding up. I took it for its first haul tonight, and 3000 lbs in it and on a trailer and it drove just as nice loaded as it does around town it was a 200 mile trip that included the same section of highway at dusk. I tucked in behind a 18 wheeler this time.

Cool, that worked thanks. I need to order a manual. I've had a couple diesel tractors. But this is my first diesel truck, and newest I've ever owned.

Thanks. I got the truck for hauling JD garden tractors. I flip them to pay for it, and play with them for fun. The duramax is slight overkill, but it's nice. Now I need a bigger trailer.

My old loader tractor would have lifted the bed on and off by itself, but I had just upgraded that to add power steering and ergonomics. I use it a lot. I just need to shim a relief valve to get max spec'd hydraulic pressure and get 450lbs of lift. My old one was 500. They are great for unloading attachments alone, much faster then an engine hoist.
