A good friend of mine has been working on this 60' Willy's Jeep for 2 years now and is within a week or two of completion. The neat part is that his dad has owned this thing for about 40 years and it has been 'setting in the weeds' for the last 15 years or so. So, anyway, my friend decided to SURPRISE his dad with a total frame-off restoration!(Dad still doesn't know anything is going-on) In the 70's, it was powered by a stock 327 Vette motor with a powerglide tranny. It was hands-down the quickest little pavement-pounder around. Now, It has a 505 HP / 540 tq small block crate motor with the same powerglide! This thing is going to be NASTY!!!
Check-it-out.............I will post more pics in the coming week or so..........

It is 2WD. Dad used to be bad about winning bets that he/the Willy's could 'jump' a watermelon with the front tire!
That thing might be needin' some wheelie-bars now!:D

That's a sweet little ride. I bet it's going to be a hand full when your at full tilt. Cool thing to do for a father as well. I'd love to find a few vette's my dad had back in the day and do something similar.

I had 440hp in my cj-5 and couldn't really get on it. It was way to squirly. That one is going to be interesting. Definetly fun though.

Got a few more pic's. Check out the old school homemade hoodscoop..............it was retained from its former days. Looks like it is going to be ready to give to 'dad' on Fathers-day weekend! He just has a few more simple odd-n-ends to take care of and he should be road-testing the little monster this weekend!:coolspot::happy2:
