ISO - ATI Damper Removal Tool - Possibly for rent too

Hey guys,

Does anyone have an ATI damper tool they would be able to rent out for a few days? I don't mind giving a deposit and a few bucks to offer as well. I rarely work on engines that have aftermarket dampers.

So I'm sure I'm not the only one who has worked behind some one who didn't quite get the balancer square on pin and proceeded to beat it on. Well after my third one this month I got fed up and made this. It's kinda crude, wanted to see that it worked first. Since there's no good place to pull...

I think I have the Generic version of this tool But it's at another property. I am in Orange County I could probally help you with this. Basically it's this set in a grey case instead of red. The Kit is made by Proform.

I was told by someone that the ATI Dampers needed their specific tool. Let me try that generic tool kit from harbor freight and see if it can get pulled with that. $80 bucks for a tool versus $230 seems ok to try with me

That's why I Purchased the ProForm Version. comes with more of a verity of bolts.

The only thing is the Dmax Might require a different crank thread adapter that may not be in the generic kit.

They don't want you using the sloppy cast units that can deform under extreme pressure.

Do you see a Specific Difference in the tool itself that Makes the ATI Better and worth the additional money?

If you can not locate the tool locally, I can bring mine home with me tomorrow.
I just don't know if there is a thread adapter that will work in the kit for a Dmax.

It may not be needed though if you are only removing a balancer.

From the sound of it damper can be pretty hard to remove. Some even destroying it if I remember correctly. I wonder if a induction heater could be used and not damage the front seal?

This is the Performance Tool set i bought. For some reason I was thinking pro form...

Any way. For installation of an ATI ballancer, I would need that DMax specific stud I posted earlier... it doesn't even come in the ATI version of this tool. I verified none of the ones in this kit are long enough or the correct thread for a Dmax crank.
