is there a way to over ride the theft deterrant ?

no crank, no start

Been having electrical problems since last July, i changed the bcm today, had it programmed with the tech 2, then tried to re learn the theft deterrant system and it wont with a tech2, tried manual relearn, it locks the truck up after the first cycle out of three. Swapping out ecm tomorrow to see if i can even get the truck to crank.

v2 or tech 2 WILL NOT communicate now.

Any body help or have any suggestions??

I know the duramax community is usually pretty tight, but its like when i ask for help on this topic i might as well have chugged a fifth of jack at an AA meeting.

ECM. I can't pin point the exact cause because I was an idiot and let a guy at work do the programming on the tech 2. Boss was on my ass about getting a motor done by yesterday.

Switched ECMs an it started cranking right away. Going to flash the new ECM Monday and see if I can recover the old one.

It could be many things. He didn't unhook batteries when proframming, I turned security off with v2 but he re programmed the stock tune before flashing and that could have cause the lock up.

That would be awesome ! Long as I get it running and to my shop so I can get setup for ts. What do you want for it ? I'm trying to get work to cover the cost Monday. Since I wrote up a service ticket on it and that gu punched on the time for it, he messed it up on company time and money. So I don't feel like I should pay for his mistake.

Well that didn't work after all. Tried to pull tune with v2 and it says PCM not detected. Anybody seen this ???

Have you unplugged the ABS yet? Is it a factory or aftermarket radio? Sounds like you have a shorted out databus, or it is being overloaded.

I unplugged the sensor on the control arm drivers side a while back when searching for the cause. Factory radio, everything inside is stock.

can you get ahold of a tech 2 and see which modules are communicating and which ones arent? or maybe the v2 can do it too but im not sure how.
