Truck was on lift to change the oil last week, guy said the rear seal going out. Is this common at 77k? Can this wait til I get the tranny upgraded in March? Here are some pics. Also the botton of the bell housing has tranny fluid again. Dealer replacedthe front bell housing because they said the housing had a flaw in cast design... Is there something else wrong? It shifts fine. I dont have any drops on the garage floor. Been like this forever... Just checking to see if I need to park it til March or what.

I would have liked a picture from the passenger side of the transfercase to be sure. I would pull the drive shaft out and inspect the surface of the yoke ( driveshaft part that rides in the transfercase ) for scoring. I would replace u joints asap. Call me if you need more info.

:happy2: rub kit ordered, thanks Mike for the help on how to install it. Mike said the rear shaft looking dirty could be a false read from the pub rub leaking. Ill have the transfer case all cleaned up and see if the rear seal stays clean also.
My son loves to help me on the truck, this will be a fun project:thumb:

I think there might b more than 1 spot! I'll make a pic with arrow when I get home. There is one pic that the tc is clean but has a black spot. That spot is obvious of a gear rub thru TC. Will b a week or two before I will get a chance to pull the TC out n do a write up. Proof this happens to any rides out there. My truck is factory with mild tune, I always thought you had to have a lot more power to create this.

Hey if I read right that the YC case is made of magnesium, how do I tig weld the rub marks? Do I need to find a reel of wire just for this app?

Hey Mike, probably I wasnt paying attention, but I dont remember this part. Do I need to drill holes in your piece and screw it on top of the factory piece or just drop it ontop of the factory piece?

Justdrop it on the pump and makes sure you remove the old bumper.
