i have a dedicated puller. its an 01. i was wanting to take the 3 bcm wiring harnesses out of the truck. truck still has the allison in it. if i remove all the wires, will i run into any problems such as theft or trans problems that efi couldnt take care off. i will be taking the dash cluster out as well.

I have floor shift transfer case, but it worked for 3 months without a BCM. The cluster will not work without it though, and you lose tow haul mode by getting rid of the BCM(that's the only reason I put one in mine was I wanted tow/haul mode).

i also have a floor shift x case. 4x worked fine, nothing else screwy other than the tow haul deal.

thanks for the help too

BCM should be left alone. There will be some screwy things occur without it. What are you hoping to gain by eliminating it? The whole thing wires and all probably doesn't weigh five pounds.

weight is of big importance to me with my truck that pulls in a 6500lb class, these wires mean nothing to me about wieght. i have no dash, the bcm wiring harness's and the gauge cluster harness does amount to quite a few wires and makes one big unsightly rats nest on the drivers side of my fire wall, which is all exposted. i know that manual trucks that only pull dont have them, so my consern was more with the tranny. please, if you have any info, please tell!

Other than tow/haul mode, the TCM doesn't care about the BCM. I didn't anything but the ECM and TCM in mine for quite some time, and there was no problems other than the lack of tow/haul. But if your pulling your probably in 4 low which uses a tow/haul mode type shift schedule anyways.

i havent turned tow haul on last year at all.

i have removed everything thats not needed on my truck. even rear leaf springs have disappeared. the bcm and bcm wiring is next on my list to check and see if i can remove it.
