Hey guys. I really don't remember if I ever did an intro thread. So here it is. I'm Zach. 21 from NC. Bought the truck may of 14 and due to some nasty mysterious water leaks I had to retire the truck October of 14. Started tearing it apart April of 15 and due to some bad decisions on machine shops and misleading info from some people it ended up being down for 2 years almost. Heads came off 3 times. Cups sealed twice. Bent a pushrod. A whole bunch of crap. Anyways December I finally sucked it up and finished it (almost at least) looks like a different truck now inside and out. Feels like it too haha. I'm hoping to be a valuable member of the forum to help others who like myself start out with a limited knowledge. Maybe you'll guys will think so one day:confused:a big thanks to all of you who have helped me through these past couple of years. I'll try and post a few pics of the stages I've been through.

After making a payment for 2 years on a truck I couldn't drive. As well as pouring around 10 grand in parts into it. Yes. Yes it does feel very good. Now I know this truck inside and out. Might could even tell ya what bolt goes where:roflmao:

Just do us all a favor and dont start telling other newbies that their LB7/LLY can take 650 on stock rods, ok? ;)

Hey that's my goal :roflmao:don't hate. But for the record. Please clarify what the max power for them is. Ive read billions of differing views from 550 to 650 even higher. How bout I split it in the middle at a nice even 600:rofl:

Keep your goal to around 550. I have no idea where you get your info from, but it sure isnt from here. Most of the guys here are wise enough to know better.
You could cause some newbie to kill their engine if you give them bad information. Think first, ok?

Went back and found the thread on here that I read when I was looking at rod limits and see your posts. I stand corrected. And I apologize. I'll go back and correct my mistake haha. So basically a stock charger puts the lb7 at its limits. Somewhat sad but heck that's still 500+ hp. Gotta love a diesel. Guess I'm a push it till it blows then let it sit for another 2 years:thumb: that'll be a while tho. Just ordered wheels and tires.

We all had to learn it. Some of us the hard way b/c we were hardheaded. I had one of the "good engines" that held higher hp, until it didnt. But one thing I always did when I discussed power goals with others was to clarify that just b/c I was doing it, didnt mean it was "normal". I dont like being irresponsible like that. We used to have the "borrowed time" club around here, and most of the older members were part of it. :roflmao:

Thanks for understanding my point of view. :thumb:

truck looks awesome man. really like the bottom pic.

Thanks man. Lots of blood sweat and tears got it where it is today. Just ordered a set of 22x12s and proxes st for it today. Gonna lower it down a bit next week. I've toyed around with selling it at times. But can't part with it.
