So I bought the truck on top sight unseen because it seemed like a deal and I was hoping for a quick flip. It was not as good as I'd hoped. There is rust in the cab and doors. And the engine is not salvageable. I have a useable core but it will likely need bored. So basically to fix the rust and do a full rebuild I'll have more in the truck than what I can flip it for. Was going to part it out but then it hit me, donor truck for my International. The International is a 67 and it's in pretty good shape. One of a kind swap if I've ever heard of one. Thinking body swap the IH to the GM frame and drive train. Biggest issue I foresee is the cooling package. No way is there room for a radiator, CAC, and a trans cooler in the front of this thing.

The old international trucks are by far my favorite of all the classic truck body styles. Sounds like a sweet swap! Look forward to seeing it progress. Might could do a bed mounted trans cooler like some cummins guys and possibly an under mounted CAC system? Just a thought. Sucks about the gmc tho. Looks to be a pretty nice truck

Internationals are cool. Not to derail your thread. But I seen your thread and have to post what I found. If I could I would buy this immediately.

That is a sweet truck. I'd love to have found a crew to build. But my single cab will keep me busy enough.

So I did a little measuring today. I'm going to have to shorten the GMC frame by 12" to match the IH wheelbase. Shouldn't be too bad. Rough engine measurements look like height will be close between turbo and hood but I think it can be done.

All of the IH engines from back in the day were torque monsters. A buddy had a scout with the 345 that was unstoppable. My dad and I restored this, its got a 304/4spd. Lots of toque, but she's wrapped up by 4k rpms.

No, my truck came from Tennessee initially but I bought it from a guy just outside Orlando. The scout came from New Mexico 6 years ago.

Well shit. Pulled my "good" core apart today and found this. 3 spun main bearings. Now I have two blocks that need machine work. Not sure what I'm going to do.

Spin bearings seem to be more common on dmaxs these days, what makes them spin, too many RPM's?
This engine had been straight abused by a buddy of mine. 160,000 miles of abuse to be exact. It had the 225hp ppe tune the whole time, even when towing 20k+ pretty regular. lots of burn outs and playing around, run with a water pump so bad it was dumping water (engine hadn't seen coolant for years) into the engine, injectors were junk for a long time. It's a wonder it lasted as long as it did. Had no clue about the bottom end though, I pulled it because of a melted piston.

The pictures don't do the crank justice. Scratches are deep. I'm not going to have it turned but I don't even think they'd clean up if I could turn it .010"
