I'm hoping you guys can help me with this so I wont have to take it back in. Since the rebuild, I can only get my T/H to engage part of the time. It almost seems like it is every other key cycle. One time it will work, the next time it will not.
Any ideas?

It must just be a short. If I pull back on the shifter lever even a 1/2" it will work just fine. Just thought you guys might want to know.

Okay, its getting worse now! I cannot get it to go into TH in Drive at all. The only way I have figured out how to do it is to hold the button in while I'm shifting out of Park and it will go on about 50% of the time.
Any suggestions on where to look? Somewhere inside the steering column? I never once had this prob before the rebuild???
Is there any way to command TH on with EFI? I want to make sure I can use it this weekend for the mud race :D

Don't know if it will help but I have a spare column out of my truck when it was wrecked. Let me know if you need some parts off of it. has the shifter and all on it still, I just swapped out a whole new one. The wheel is pretty bent up and the column is about two inches shorter than it should be but the parts are still good as far as I know.

If its on the column I've got it. Everything was just unplugged, and the whole column taken out, wiring was still all intact just the holes didnt line up anymore. Tell me where it is on the column and I'll check tonight.

I dont know? I havnt torn into it yet. I probablly wont until either it starts raining a lot or this winter. It would make sense though because even before the rebuild (I think it was when I did my own tranny swap) afterwards my airbag light has always been on. I was just told it was either an expensive sensor or something to do with my ABS which doesnt make much sense.
If you can use BlueMax's Simon, go for it. Like I said, I may not get to mine for a while unless I cant get it into TH period.

MaxFarmer, one of the wires coming out of the shift lever is most likley broken. You could probably try to fix them, but it would proably be easier to replace the lever...

Just pop the boot off and there is one little allen screw holding the lever on, and one small plug for the wire.

How much do ya want for the lever and boot? :D
I mangled up the boot trying to pop it off, found the wire and it fell in half right where one of those clips are. I guess I found the problem! I just cant figure out how that wire wore itself in half? I was going to try to butt-connect it but it appears there is actually 2 leads in the wire....I'd feel better with one that is right.

That's cool. All I'm hoping is that it gets here by Friday. I have 2 mud races this weekend to hit, and I used to be able to jimmy the shifter lever enough to make it work. Now that it came plumb apart I may have a harder time....or I'll just strip the wires! :D
