Intermittent oil leak

Can someone give me suggestions on finding an annoying oil leak?

It's upfront, seems to be a high pressure leak but sometimes it just leaks while parked and running. There is hardly ever a drop when parked and off.

The oil pressure gauge appears to work or bounces or just doesn't move then the check oil pressure light comes on and goes off.

Where to start?

This is a good idea. Clean the area and try to see where it will come back. Best way to easily see it. Start by looking at hoses, connections, fittings, crimps, or places where there are gaskets.

I also have an 2001 and i had an oil leak that was hard to pinpoint once.
Turned out to be a crack in the upper engine oil pan.
May be something to check out.
