Intermediate shaft

I am pretty sure a broke my output shaft, has anyone broke a intermediate shaft and at what power and weight?

Very few, if any people have broken intermediate shafts. There are billet intermediate shafts offered by companies but they seem to be more of a "gotta have" item rather than a much needed one.

Does it grind going into park?

Yes, it grinds if u try and put it in park with truck running

When I blew a transfer case, mine would grind going into park, and would not move.

There must be a connection from the output shaft to the tires or it will grind.

I was building boost and was bumping in to light the second bulb when it popped . I would love for it to be a transfer case. Guess I will find out tomorrow when I start pulling stuff. How could u tell if its the transfer case for sure before pulling it?

Start from the back and work forward. Put the trans in park and disconnect drive shaft from diff. Does the drive shaft turn? If so, pull the transfer case. Does the output shaft turn? If so, it's broke.

It was the output, How hard is it to change the output in the truck? any tricks?

Trans has to come out or you risk damaging the trans

Dont you need a special socket for the nut as well?

Yes but, a front hub socket for a 4X4 will work with slight grinding mods.
