Hey I'm looking to do an interior swap from a 2006 sierra 2500HD w/ duramax extended cab into a buddies 2003 silverado 1500 extended cab.. Just was hoping to hear if the seats between the chev 1500 and the gmc 2500hd would fit into each other and I heard there was a difference possibly with a airbag module connection? Thought maybe someone had done a swap similiar or knew some more details.. And just a shot in the dark, anyone wire up or change over a harness from manual seats to power and heated seats? Thanks in advance, Dan

i would like to find a nice SLT interior for my SLE. when i got it, my truck was far from perfect on the inside. i heard they changed the plugs on the power seats somewhere along the years... '03 seats may have different plugs than '06?

Why do you want to swap? The 2003-2007 classic interiors are all the same.

my '04 has cloth seats, no power and used to have a jump seat. my dads '06 has leather, power, heated and a center console so no they arent all the same:thumb:

Haha ya sorry, want to go from cloth, manual adjustment in my silverado ls to this new interior it is a Sierra slt so power sests, power lumbar, leather and heated.. Plus will probably change the console in.. My interior came pretty mint to me when I bought my truck but just if I could score the leather and power it would be nice.. I could probably just cut out the old plug and put in the new one eh? Or I guess ideally just re-pin it.. Or if the would harness is getting replaced maybe that'll work.. So there is no issues with switching interior from a 1500 to a 2500hd? I was worried if the trans tunnel was different or mounting was different.. and I can just bolt the console in to replace my jumper seat right? I'm either doing this or getting leather covers and seated elements so no power seats.. But for the right price I think this makes sense because I can sell my interior still, hopefully do the swap and sell for 500 bucks or less.. And ya I was doing this from my buddy but he backed out and hooked me up with the seller
thanks,
Dan

You will basically want a donor truck, you'll have to swap basically the entire body and dash harness, airbox and a lot of the dash, theres actually quite a bit to it

Sorry, but I need all the body and dash harness, airbox and dash to switch the seats or the seats and console? I'm looking at a wrecked truck so all the parts are there just need to know what I need.. Just would buy the least to keep the price down obviously.. I was hoping to just replace the harness from the seats to bcm.. Guessing that isn't possible tho?

what exactly are you trying to do. Im confused here.

List all of the components that you want to swap from the 2500HD into the 1500... ie seats etc...

Until you list EXACTLY what all you want to do and swap, no one can help you... ;)

oh jeez haha thats easy.

Ya all you have to do is swap the glovebox/center knee panel trim piece, pull the two front seats out, put the console in, and put the new seats in.

If you plug the 12-way bucket seats in, you'll get power, but you wont have memory and heat functions. To get the memory and heat functions, you'll have to add some extra wiring and the memory seat module, and the switch in the door. You dont have to change the whole interior harness. ;)

The 1500 is at least an "uplevel" truck right...its not a base work truck with crank windows and stuff right?

Haha That definitely makes me more confident in the switching of the seats and console.. But I heard something about airbag sensors in the seats having different plugs changed in 05 or 06? And yes the 1500 LS is one above the W/T base model so I have power windows, locks, power mirrors, keyless entry, all of that plus my mods.. But manual adjustment seats with only the airbag sensor.. That is my worry..

But ya, so the " the glovebox/center knee panel trim piece" is just the lower piece that runs from the center to under the glove box like infront of the heater box?
And should I try to take the wiring harness for the power seats on both sides?
Are the heater and memory seat buttons on the same control panel as the power window and mirror switch? I could probably buy that too.. And where is the memory seat module, I probably don't need that since I can't adjust my Drivers Information Center for user 1 or 2 memory anyways..

Anyways all I really want is the power and leather, heated would be a bonus and not having my airbag light on my dash would be a bonus too.. Wish I could toss the Duramax and Allison into my truck too but that isn't going to happen.. haha

Thanks,
Dan
