makes sense. Everybody should be safe now. Matter of fact, take away the cops guns completely. According to statistics only 2% of civilian shootings involve an innocent person being shot (not killed). The error rate for police is 11%.

It's to bad people started pointing that out as soon as the bill was passed, would have been better if the law had gone into effect before the realized it. The whole thing is BS I feel sorry for the gun owners in NY and hope they get this overturned quickly.

Retired officers doesn't make any sense to me.. they are civilians just like everybody else. What about ex-military... The whole thing needs thrown out anyhow. Ridiculous law..

I agree, but maybe that a loop hole. Have the local sheriff deputize ya for a weekend and there ya go. Sounds like a $$ maker to bet that would worth some $$$ to residents.

I agree. Nothing personal against retired officers. But how is it fair that they would be able to keep their toys when they are no longer an active member of the law enforcement. They are now a normal citizen like everyone else. Why should they get preferable treatment. That is just my thought on it.
