I picked up an unused spearco turbonetics intercooler for LB7. It did not come with any parts, just cooler unit alone. After reading instructions, it reads that the A/C must be discharged. Don't feel like doing that.

Anyone install an intercooler here and did not have to discharge their A/C?

I did not discharge refridgerant to install a banks on my old LLY. It's just really tricky to sneak it in. Will need a buddy to hold condenser, trans cooler, etc away while you lift the oem one out and put the new one in.

Ah. It's all about ease of installation.

Did your banks instructions call for discharge of A/C unit, initially?

Did you have to remove the fan?

Bought it used, no instructions at all.

Left the rad in place. Removed upper rad support and left the condensor and trans cooler hanging and had someone keep them sorted and safe while i lifted old one out/new one in.

No the banks instructions do not call for discharging the A/C system. Installed the Banks intercooler in my LLY by myself. When I did the LBZ, nephew helped. Definitely easier if there is someone there to help.

You might go to the Banks website and download the instructions.
