I have a AEM bruteforce intake with dryflow filter, clean the filter drive the truck and it will pull the plunger in to 90% on the intake tube showing the filter is dirty. Do I need a different style filter or intake or Wat? Or this ok?

Thanks inadvance

Doesn't sound right, is it an airbox with the filter sealed inside? If it is some require you to take the plate under the stock airbox out so air can be pulled from beneath. I know of an LLY with a S&B, truck wouldn't hardly go above 70 mph. He removed the plate under the intake and the problem was solved.

I had one of these AEMs years ago and it did the same thing but never was an issue with the stock turbo. A friend had the same thing and he ran it for years. His did this too. He never reported any issues with his either. I'm not saying don't worry about it. But this was my experience with it. Matter a fact, now that I think about it, I had two different intakes that did this. Never seemed to hinder the truck though. Try the air through the bottom like LWATSON stated, and see how it does. What do you have to lose?

It's an open filter, just has a heat shield around it, and the plate under is already removed, if you loom down on the filter you can see the straight to the ground. The truck runs fine and everything just thought it might run even better with more air!

I cant imagine the indicator being pulled in on an open intake, but maybe the filter is a little restrictive. I would remove the filter and make a run down the road and see if it seems to perform better without the filter. If It feels the same I wouldn't worry about it its probably not hurting anything. When I had my stock intake my indicator would get pulled in about 1/4" even with a new filter but ran fine. It only did this if I ran it hard.

I can't believe it does it either that's why I was wondering about it. I'll try running it without the filter this weekend. The truck runs fine the way it is but I'll see if it changes it any with out it
