Installing Updates???

I have a ?? regarding downloading new updates to your home pc. take for instance i just downloaded v 7.4.2 to my home pc, no problems , Thenbwhen i take that same file and copy it to a disk and try and load it to my laptop i come up with a problem stating i'm missing some type of files to create it..But if i download the file and send it directly to the cd and then load it onto my laptop it works fine..

I guess what i'm asking is the download only good for one time use? Or should i be able to download the file, upload it onto my home pc as well as my laptop using the same download?

I've got it on both now. I don't know why i can't use it more than once??? I never have been able too. Kinda pain in the ass, Just the way things go for me i guess..
