i popped all mine on the injector first, ran my little bead of 272 around the sealing area and put them in. I let them sit for five min before tightening the injector hold down to spec

Cups

You must CLEAN the head and cup very very good! Make sure it is spotless. Then put on the loctite and tq hold as soon as you can. You want the cup fullt seated before the loctite sets up.

the gm manual i have says to drive it in with a brass drift. thats what i did with mine and you can noticeably hear a different ping noise as soon as the cup seats. like when you drive in a wheel bearing.

and dont forget the 272 :)

I really hope not!

I let the injectors sit for 24hours too after bein put in before i put any coolant back in just to make sure it was good and dry. Probably overkill but only wanted to do it once

Loctite gets its sealing force from pressure. So when you drive it in it gets activated. And full strength is achieved after 24 hours. If you were to run a bend on a table it will stay liquid for days. The mechanic on site was telling me all about it the other day, it was good info.

I just put them on injectors, added LT, and put right in and tq down to spec immediately. I had even more fun putting in the lbz regulator, that was a project all on its own!!!!

i do as above and take a socket the size of the top of the cup flip the socket over, put a extention through the socket and tap the cup into place. Works pretty slick.

Anyone ever tried the retaing compound, the green stuff? I've used that on lots of bearings and it's a MF to get apart lots of heat. Never tried red on bearings before just bolts, but the green seems way stronger and I know it take alot of heat to get it apart.
