I have the same parts waiting to go in. Any tips or tricks that helped you? Is a lift absolutely necessary or could a floor jack be used? Thanks.

you can do it on a floor jack but it's going to be hard. those idler and pitman arm nuts are on tite!!! theres really no tricks it was just a little tough on the idler bracket because i had to unbolt the pivot from the frame! count how many turn it takes to get your tie rod end off to keep your alinment pretty good. i messed up on that and thats what took the most time. any more questions feel free to ask!!

is there a diy for installing the cognito braces? I've got a set that I've had since last summer that I really should install. I'm really not sure why I haven't put them on yet

This can be done with floor jacks. I did the tie rods, control arm bushings, braces for the idler arm and pitman arm and while I wasa under ther I wend ahead and replaced the idelr arm and pitman arm. Just take the truck to a tire shop afterwards and have it aligned. Not a hard taks to do with basic hand tools.

He's right i just was able to use my buddies lift. i just jacked it up to make sure everything is tight it isn't too bad acctually. just for the pitman arm that nut is 1 5/16 that was the only tool i had to go out and buy!

I just recently did both also. Follow mcrats info for the tie rod sleeves and follow the instructions that come with the cognito pieces. Very good instructions for both and the install went smooth for me. Everything is included with the braces even the locktite.
