I'm looking into swapping in a 6 speed C1/C2 drum into my 01 5 speed. I've found one, but was wanting to verify what all I would have to swap over to make it work. I understand mid year 05 there was a change to the C1 thrust bearing diameter and thickness. If I used my current 01 input shaft and associated C1 parts with the 6 speed drum it should bolt in correct? I see that the C1 hub had the lip machined off of it for the larger thrust bearing, so if I used an input for the stepped hub and the stepped hub it should work correct? Are there any real advantages for somebody like me only running in the mid 400HP range to upgrading to the new style pump and shaft over my 01's?

You cannot use the '01 input shaft with a late C1 hub with machined lip. Your shaft has a recessed bearing and the late shaft has a protruding bearing. Use the early C1 hub with the lip and your early input. Should be ok.

Thanks Mike, thats what I was planning on doing was using the 6 speed rotating assembly, the 01 input, the 01 thrust bearing, and the 01 C1 hub(the one with the step on it to ride on the thrust bearing, not the 6 speeds flat one).
