I was wondering since so many injectors get stuck open and ruin motors why couldn't you have something similar to an oxygen sensor in the manifold outside each exhaust port. This could be used to see if an injector was stuck open or not and then shut the fuel off to that injector and set a code letting you know which injector was bad.

I think monitoring balance rates would give an indication of this issue as well. You would have a hole that is out to lunch if it was stuck open no?
Thing is, how long does it take for a stuck injector to cause damage? Would you be able to catch it in time?
