That's a high price for injectors that are outside the valve covers (unlike our LB7's)... What's your symptoms? Are YOU convinced you have bad injectors?
Dealerships read codes and throw parts at these trucks. Not many actually diagnose anymore...
Do you use additives? They may be right and it does sound like a fuel knock, but sometimes it needs a good cleaning. It could also be the tuning. With some wear your injectors may be making more noise, and the EDGE may amplify the cause of the knock at those RPM's.
I personally would take their advice for what it is... advice... And I would try doing the DIY injector cleaning procedure. Along with keeping an eye on my balance rates. I would also try going back to stock tuning to see if the noise is still there without tuning adjustments. You will need to disconnect the EDGE from the bail connectors under the hood to return it to stock.
Thats what I would do first, before just throwing parts at it.
Diesel kleen in the tank isn't going to do alot to clean sticking injectors. get teh GM upper engine cleaner, mix it with 2 gallons of diesel, and run it through just the engine(disconnect the 2 fuel lines at the rear of the engine and hook the can of cleaner mix straight to the engine). It will take an hour or so to run it all through, but it is about the best way to clean them short of pulling them out and ultrasonic cleaning them. And I know GM wants a little over $400 per injector if your paying full list price. I found Lincoln diesel had the best price for LLY injectors if you buy all 8.
