I was just watching a video regarding injector sleeves and putting locktite at the top of the sleeve, where the o rings are.

Where is lock tite supposed to go on the injector sleeve?

Could I install the injector in the cup prior to installing it into the cylinder head, and would that seal about the same?

113302585.gif The surface that you apply the sealant to is marked by the #1. U do not want to put lock tight on the top were the 0-Rings are. Also you install it separate from the injector. It takes a little tap with a rubber hammer to get it seated properly in the head. You don't want to tap on the injector! If you PM me your email I'll send you the complete directions.

I saw that same video when I went to do my injectors and it worried me too. If you look at the comments they all say not to put the loctite on the o-rings. The above post shows the correct spot.

Thank goodness you replied. I just opened the bottle and nearly started to pour lock tite at the o ring section of the sleeve.

Going to step back and re frame my attempt at install. Thank you for the educational reply and great timing.

Lol No Problem. One more thing I thought about. I normally apply Mystic Grease to the O-Rings. Makes them slide into the head much easier.

Got the sleeves in. Cylinder 8 and 6 sucked to install. I used, for what I thought was a better fit, a 19mm socket. Not so. Stick with a 22mm or 24mm as I have read else where. I scored a few of the sleeves using the 19mm socket. Rubber mallet seemed useless. I tapped most in with a hammer. Make sure to lube o rings well. Cylinder 7 was not fun either, but better than drivers side for certain. Used the sleeve remover tool kent moore j-45910 to install as well.
