Hey guys. First off I have a fairly large list of questions and I’m really sorry if I irritate anyone with them.
Gonna be buying another 02 soon and it’s hazing pretty terrible so injectors are a must right off the bat. Definitely going SAC. Firstly. The trans is stock so I’d prefer to keep the power as close to stock as possible. Here’s my ultimate goal. Double batmo 475 or 476sxe. Built trans of course (mike or Evan hopefully) and enough fuel to bend a few rods. :roflmao: I really do not want to do injectors twice. So. Here’s my deal. I want 100 overs (I think?) also thinking 10 or 12mm pump. Tho I’m skeptical about strokers. I know Mark is very fond of them but I read the entire thread about stroker pumps (exergy to be exact) and saw how many people they gave problems. Now I would not be getting an exergy but probably an LDS Pump.

1- have they fixed the longevity issues with stroker pumps?
2- would 100 overs be too much or not enough for my goals?
3- till I build the trans and get the s400 kit could I run 100 overs at fairly close to stock power and not roast the entire engine?
4- will someone please explain pulse width to me and how it it reacts to different sizes and tunes?

Thanks guys. Really would love to learn all this stuff.

You are going to get 100 differant answers everyone has there own opinions. There is no sliver bullet answer. I personally don't see why you would making all these plans when just getting a truck has got you into debt. At this rate your going to have a very hard time achieving your goals making these poor financial decisions. Also they come out with better parts every year. I wouldn't be in a rush to put a big turbo on my truck now knowing I'm not going to use it to its potentials for 5 years or so. When in 5 years they may have some way better offerings for turbos. Now I'll get off my soap box.

Like Mark I would take a stroker pump over duals. I haven't heard of longevity issues in several years with good pumps. You need a 12mm for 100 overs.

#2 100s should be fine for your end goal getting there on the other hand

#3 that would need to be your tuners recommendation 100s are big for a stock truck.

#4 pulse is the time that the injectors are open - spraying fuel. The longer the more fuel the more power. Stock is like 1800 a very long time to have injectors open is 3200. That is assuming your cp3 can keep up with the injectors. Now 100overs changes that since the opening is bigger if flows more fuel to start with so 1800 on 100s is like 3000 on a stock injector.

What dozer said is 100% on target....all of it.

Get your financial house in order FIRST! Going into debt building a Duramax is simply not a very smart thing to do, so dont do it.

I know my recent decisions weren’t the brightest. Seemed right at the time with someone whispering do it in my ear but that’s another story. I just don’t wanna do the same things twice. And as far as money goes, I’m not stretched by any means right now. All of January bills are all going to be paid as of Thursday. And it’ll be even easier when I sell this ford which is in the process just delayed till tax time. And as of March, I’ll be looking for a more cost effective place to live since I’m not expecting another person anymore. And I’m gonna be picking up a 990 civic for dirt cheap to beat around in. I know y’all don’t need to know that I just don’t want everyone thinking I’m overextending myself. I really do appreciate all the help tho guys. Everything beyond the injectors on this truck will be paid for with cash.

#1 thanks for the clarification. I really don’t care for duals so that’s great news. 12mm was what I thought
#2 that’s great. Reason I want to go ahead and pull the plug is that the price difference between 45 and 100 over SAC is $300. I’d just assume do it now.
#3 guess I’ll be asking Danville
#4 that makes soooooo much sense. Now I just have to figure out where timing comes into play lol
