Been checking the balance rates on my injectors at least a couple times a day, and usually the rates for #7 are borderline at park idle.

I plan on trying to do the harness pick trick this weekend and I threw some fuel additive in the tank.

So far, no codes, no change in MPG, and no power loss that I can feel. Doesn't smoke or rattle more than normal  So I am wondering if an injector can be out of tolerance balance rate wise and still be fine? Or will this get significantly worse once the injector falls out of tolerance completely? And if so, will it throw a code when the injector finally does go?

Thanks

Injector should not throw a code but could cause a related code. Once they start going bad they don't get better. Good thing is you can replace just the bad ones without any harm. Not like doing the lb7 for sure. Usually it is recommended to replace if the balance rates are at 6. I don't like to see 4's myself. There are numerous items that can cause rates to be off without it being the injector.

Guess I should have rephrased it, what can give a definite answer on if I need an injector? So far my balance rate seem to indicate I do, but I don't particularly feel like doing an injector swap if I don't need it.
