Injector nozzle question

I am going to do 30 or 40 over injectors when I put my truck back together. Been reading up about sending the nozzles out for honing vs sending the injectors off to some place like Exergy, and I'm really struggling with the price of sending the injectors out. Engine has 185k miles, balance rates were in spec last time I checked them.

If I did nozzles, and an injector failed or went out of spec in the future, is there any reason that I wouldn't be able to swap the modified nozzle over to a new or reman injector body at that point?

It is not the ideal way of doing things. Wear occurs even if balance rates do not show the issues. You really would be dollars ahead to start with a fresh set. I have done it the cheap way before and it was not cheaper than me doing it the right way.

Replacing them? Lol... Sorry.

It's always tempting to save a few bucks but sometimes it just isn't worth it.

Having a set of nozzles honed vs a new set of injectors seems like you could replace a lot of nozzles. I'm not trying to argue, just trying to understand what happens to run the cost up.

Doing it the cheapest way and then having to start over because everything is trash is what runs the cost up. I have not seen higher mileage injectors last very long. The nozzles on them really are not worth modding so you buy new ones and in the end it will cost you less to start fresh because you get something that last much longer and performs better as well. It is your money and you have to live with the overall expenses. I just speaking from my experiences.
