Hi Ive been using a guide from the forum to do my injectors.....but it says the Banjo fittings on the return lines need to be torqued at 106 in/lbs......whereas all the sites Ive seen ( So Cal Diesel) has all the torque specs for the whole motor and it has them at 12 ft/lbs and the one at the head at 11. Ive already torqued them to the 12 ft/lbs. Which one is right? and do I need new banjo seals if I overtightened them? Thanx.

Just about to tighten down the lowers and I found this discrepancy. ughhh!

Ive been apart for a week ...but I ended up returning the fake bosch remans gm are trying to sell these days and waiting 3 days to get the real mccoys. Hr wise Im not sure. Ive been cleaning parts etc etc... and taking my time to keep it sterile

So u put them in at 12 ft/lbs and didn't have an issue? It didn't spin apart the banjo seals or strip... but Im wondering if it ahs to do with thermal expansion. You started yours and it didn't leak at any of them?

also I noticed that there was what looked like a sesalant on the lower valve cover bolts...and that the holes could potentially go into water jackets in the head. Did u seal youre bolts? Or is that the role of the rubber grommet that sits in the valve cover? Wish I could find someone around here that knew what was what....u know?

I did not seal the bolts only the top vc,nasty bastards to get off, arnt they?Although I did notice some sealant on the ends of the lower vc bolts when removed,I dropped 1 lower vc bolt above the diver side head when the injectors were out and I never found it.I spent hours searching but never found it now I have a +8 on cly #8 and im scarred shitless, right were I dropped it,where could it go in there?Im always carful but shit happens!

Strange they all had sealant on them, maybee just a precaution from the last set installed.Do you have records on how many sets have been done?
