So I am wanting to paint the bowtie and grill on my truck. The grill will be painted white to match the truck and I'm not sure if I want to do the bowtie white also or do blue (favorite color and it looks good with white). But the thing is I don't have a paint gun and I wasn't sure how rattle can paint with rattle can primer would turn out. Any insight from you guys I would appreciate, I've never really painted anything on a vehicle so this will be a first.

Thanks
Michael.

I did mine with automotive spray paint, frost white ordered threw carquest. Sand it down, do a primer and just take your time nice and smooth with light coats don't stop in one spot with the can. I was extremely happy with the way mine turned out considering local paint shop wanted 500$$!! I think I had 22 or 23 bucks into it

Yeah I gave everything a decent scratch, used a self etching sandable primer and I just looked for imperfections, sanded them down and sprayed again. Make sure your not spraying in a dusty area. nothing worse then watching dust land in new paint. and check for flys haha! Just read the can for proper temps and dry times

Did you have to use a adhesion promoter? Guy at Oreillys talked me into it so before I started into it I figured I'd ask before I couldn't take it back

Krylon Fusion Paint works real good, no priming required. My bowtie has been black for two years, painted with the Krylon Fusion. And about 6 months ago the chrome on the grill started peeling, so I did that as well. Looks good and has held up well so far.

Use plasti-dip. It goes on like spray paint but if you decide you don't like it you can peel it back off. Best invention ever.
