My top cooler line going into my tranny is leaking. This is the same line that came off two week ago, installed a new clip in the fitting and today I saw that it has a drip around the clip. What would be the best route to take to try and fix this leak. Has anyone ever tried to hard pipe the lines in the trany, it would seem like it could be done if you could get a shot enough fitting to go in the tranny and just flair the line with a pipe fitting.

Remember it is the o ring in the fitting that seals the line. The clip only locks the fitting to the line. You may have a bad o ring or fitting.

Thanks for the info guys. I would like to try hard lines in but not sure if there are any fittings out there that would be short enough for the lines to clear the exhaust.

GMC PSmoking

I have a 2002, 2500HD with 185,000 miles. I have read several responses for the Duramax Smoke problem. I have the same problem. I have white smoke (only at Idle and low RPM), and it has a faint smell of diesel, I pulled my oil dipstick and found diesel in my oil. At first, I thought it was the injectors as well, I had the injectors tested and found the pressure was at 2 and it should be at 0 (at-lease I was told that), so the GMC dealer changed my fuel filter and flushed the line. While at the dealer, the smoke did stop, until I drove the truck 10 miles, then it started again. My truck runs good, and I have been pulling a lot of trailers over the years (big trailers). I have not lost any oil or coolant, and my truck has no signs of leaks anywhere under the hood, no cracks or signs of any head-leaks.

Can anyone help me out with this. I am tired of spending money and no-one fixing the problem. If the engine is shot, I will trade it in. I hear all kinds of opinions from valve job to blown head gasket. Any one with experience?
