LBZ is still randomly getting electrical shut down. Began In March with it dying while driving. Put on new alt, Batteries, Ground wires from Batt to block. Detuned to stock. Took to dealer and they found the ground under driver door and cleaned it up and it was good until yesterday when it was itermittently Knocking and stalling a little while cruising down the road at 60. Never did shut off just like it had a surge or glich somewhere. I need to recheck grounds but does anyone have any ideas or a book of Matches?:dontknow::banging:

A while back I had a similar problem with my pyro ground wire. It hit the exhaust and melted the plastic and then touched the frame and blew the green fuse that cost 4.99 each. 4.99 x 12 untill I figured it out. But it did the same thing to me a couple of times. Maybe this might help, maybe not???

No on the rain. Also I forgot to mention I swapped motors in Jan. But it was 2 months before it started acting up.

have you insulated the battery trays? I had a similar electrical weirdness that started a fire in the cab at the hvac blower harness. A few nights and bong hits later inspired me to put rubber insulating mat under the batteries as well as check the washer pump, which was melted from dripping batery acid (walmart batteries tend to leak if not insulated underneath). Hope this helps:)

The reason I asked is that mine does it sometimes when it rains, If you figure it out let me know, It may be what I need to check, an if I find anything I'll let u know.

I feel you pain. I have almost pulled out all of my hair trying to figure out why I'm losing communications with my computers, ever since I put the new motor in

Check to make sure the harness from the fuse block to the ECM isn't rubbing on the inner fender liner. Took my LBZ down in the first 6 months I had it and I have seen other LBZs that had the same issue with the way that harness was run and the fact it has no loom on it.

Thanks I'll check that.

OK Was driving the lbz this afternoon and it stumbled cruising down the road. Stopped at one of the barns and it died. WOuldn't restart. I took the cover off the fuse block under the hood and wiggled the wires comin in and then it started right up. I was not getting anything out of the starter when i hit the key. It kept flashing service brake system while I was turning the key with nothing happening. The radio would come on and all kinds of lights were on the dash. Any ideas. Looked at the harness and didn't see anything out of the ordinary.

Thanks.

Boy, that no starter action sounds a lot like my issue with the harness. If it is not that, I am going to put on my 6.5 hat and suggest looking at the source of all 6.5 evils - the grounds. There are a number of them, and I have seen a Dmax act goofy when one or more was compromised...
