finally got the chance to tow something to the mountains to do some playing. This is the first thing ive had to actually tow since ATS "fixed" my tranny last year. Before that i would run very hot and shifted like crap. I cant really complain about how it performs as a DD,

Drove 45 min from my house in centera to the storm mountain trail head (which ended up being closed) up north of drake. 15 mph on the final 10 miles of switchbacks and rough roads.. All i was towing was my can am and a little tandem trailer....apparently that was asking too much...got 15 min for the trail head and the "hot transmission" came on....REALLY!! it was 75* outside..lite load..going nice and slow keeping my gear...this is the same thing it did before the fix on my trip to idaho...this overheating issue was supposed to be fixed! So i got to coast in neutral down the mountain, down hwy 34 hoping it cooled by the time i hit Loveland..what a joke

My 5 year warranty ran out last year right after it was "fixed"...as soon as i have the money...this piece of shit is GONE!! Purple has been nothing but a nightmare for me..

END RANT,

last year they said "they just run hot" till they tore into it..then it was a "material in the cooling system" problem, but by then it had had total failure before they could address the heating problem.

I've never personally dealt with ATS, but from the "word of mouth" that I've heard from people that have dealt with them I can safely say I will never do business with them. Most of the time it is about transmissions failing brand new straight from them, or in your case failing after its been "fixed". Sorry to hear about this man, but this is why I went with Suncoast Raybestos.

they have had it several times for total failure..2 times i picked it up and it didnt make it home..1st time it got back to loveland before it retired to limp mode, 2nd time it made it 3 blocks from there shop and blew...months of downtime

Ouch... I beat the shit out of my PPE stage 5 daily and it never skipped a beat in 70,000 hard earned miles. For as much as you paid I'd be hot...

lol, too much.... thats a good one. Sorry to hear about your troubles. My builder installed an ATS 5 star converter in my truck when he built it and he pulled the trans back out twice trying to find a small leak and it ended up being a hole in the junk ATS converter. He put a good ML precision in it and it fixed the issue.

Depending on what the trans all needs I have about 6 Allison rebuilds under my belt. Maybe something we can tear into if that's the route you would like to go!
