First of all the turbo is a 66/74/14 T3. Billet compressor wheel. Truck is an LLY with stock fuel, lift pump, built trans, and EFI live.
Wow. This truck is fun. Very little lag and when it lights it hits pretty hard not the more gradual increase of the stock VVT. Normal cruising I'm getting 0 boost but give it some throttle and you instantly see some boost. I havn't run it wot yet but I've seen 30 psi. I'm guessing I may not see a lot more being fuel limited. I should mention that I need to have the truck retuned. I'm running a 500+ rwhp VVT race tune with mil's turned off that I've had since 08. I think I'm seeing lower ECT's as well since I deleted the EGR at the same time. Should be less heat load on the cooling system with no turbo and EGR to cool. But LLY temp gauges wave been known to lie...
This thing sounds wicked. Much more whistle than the stock VVT but less than a modded VVT. The exhaust sounds so much better. Basically sounds like a pissed off lb7 with a lot more whistle. I'm straight piped and I love it but if your putting this on your dd or tow rig you will probably want a muffler.
I bought it from Henry and the kit had everything you need. Fit perfect. Install was actually pretty easy. You NEED 3/8 and 1/2 " flex head ratchets.
Plan on replacing your passenger side up pipe or welding the EGR riser shut ( I did this). A bolt on EGR cap will hit the side of the turbo so it won't fit. You will also need a short 4" 90* silicone boot. I used a length of 4" exhaust pipe to connect the boot to my s&b intake.
I'll comment more when I tow with it and have tuning that is made for the turbo.
