First of all the turbo is a 66/74/14 T3. Billet compressor wheel. Truck is an LLY with stock fuel, lift pump, built trans, and EFI live.

Wow. This truck is fun. Very little lag and when it lights it hits pretty hard not the more gradual increase of the stock VVT. Normal cruising I'm getting 0 boost but give it some throttle and you instantly see some boost. I havn't run it wot yet but I've seen 30 psi. I'm guessing I may not see a lot more being fuel limited. I should mention that I need to have the truck retuned. I'm running a 500+ rwhp VVT race tune with mil's turned off that I've had since 08. I think I'm seeing lower ECT's as well since I deleted the EGR at the same time. Should be less heat load on the cooling system with no turbo and EGR to cool. But LLY temp gauges wave been known to lie...

This thing sounds wicked. Much more whistle than the stock VVT but less than a modded VVT. The exhaust sounds so much better. Basically sounds like a pissed off lb7 with a lot more whistle. I'm straight piped and I love it but if your putting this on your dd or tow rig you will probably want a muffler.

I bought it from Henry and the kit had everything you need. Fit perfect. Install was actually pretty easy. You NEED 3/8 and 1/2 " flex head ratchets.
Plan on replacing your passenger side up pipe or welding the EGR riser shut ( I did this). A bolt on EGR cap will hit the side of the turbo so it won't fit. You will also need a short 4" 90* silicone boot. I used a length of 4" exhaust pipe to connect the boot to my s&b intake.

I'll comment more when I tow with it and have tuning that is made for the turbo.

There is a little smoke until it lights then it cleans up all of it. The highest egt I've seen so far is 1100. Granted I havn't run wot yet but I would see 1800 on the same tune stock VVT.

I try and tell people all the time how nasty those turbos can be. On a cc/sb lly with 40%injectors this turbo is very capable of a high 11 second pass. I know for a fact.

When I need injectors I'll probably. Go with 45% exergy.

Done a little more driving and I was seeing 3-5 psi under light acceleration. I've seen 1400* wot but that run was wife limited... I didn't catch the boost gauge before I caught hell.

Glad you FINALLY got it installed Chris :thumb::roflmao:.
I really like mine and it towed my trailer back from Canada loaded well.
Drove mine again today for the first time in awhile.

I'm pretty sure I've got a boost leak somewhere. On my 30hp tune it smokes at first and only hits 20 psi of boost. I maybe making a new intercooler next :D.

It's pretty sad that Brian built his motor faster than I installed a turbo. :roflmao:
It sat in my shop for almost 3 months. I just didn't have time to mess with it.

Still love the turbo. It did well towing today. Hauling firewood, not real heavy but probably 7-8 k trailer weight in addition to 2.5-3k in the bed of the truck. only time I had issues was in 5th at 50 mph @ about 1500 rpms. On flat ground I could roll into it and it would build boost but not on hills. I really don't think the stock VVT would have been much better if at all in that situation. At 55 mph it wasn't an issue. Just doesn't like 50. All in all very happy with the turbo.

As a pure tow rig I like my LMM. I love having the turbine brake. If I ever upgrade it's turbo I would put a set of standard twins on it.:woott:

It's a 14cm2 housing. I'm not positive but I think it is smaller than a .90 a/r housing. Hopefully someone who knows turbos will chime in.
